An LED yacht sign transforms your vessel's identity from something you see during the day to something that defines the dock at night. Where brass and stainless steel rely on reflected light and craftsmanship to make an impression, illuminated acrylic creates its own presence — a soft, even glow that spells out your boat's name across the water.
Our LED signs are not retrofit lighting kits bolted onto a separate sign. The LEDs are integrated directly into a CNC-cut acrylic panel, creating a seamless unit with no exposed wiring, no visible mounting hardware, and no weak points where water could penetrate.
Every LED yacht sign follows the same precision process we use for our metal signs, adapted for illuminated acrylic:
- CNC-cut marine acrylic — Each letter is precision-cut from cast acrylic sheet at 0.1mm tolerance, ensuring crisp edges and consistent letter spacing.
- Edge-lit LED modules — High-output LED strips are bonded to the edges of the acrylic, creating an even, diffused glow across the entire letter face without visible hotspots.
- Sealed wiring channels — All wiring runs through silicone-sealed channels behind the mounting plate. No exposed connections on the face or sides of the sign.
- Marine-grade connectors — Deutsch-style sealed connectors rated for marine environments. The same connectors used in offshore navigation equipment.
- 316L stainless mounting plate — The acrylic letters are mounted on a laser-cut stainless steel backing plate that handles structural load and provides a clean mounting surface.
- Wireless RGB controller — A compact, waterproof controller with wireless remote lets you adjust color, brightness, and effects from anywhere on the vessel.
The right choice depends on your vessel, your usage, and your priorities.

Many owners choose LED for the transom name and brass or stainless for the hailing port lettering beneath — combining nighttime impact with traditional craftsmanship.
Marine LED signage faces the harshest conditions in the lighting industry: constant salt spray, UV degradation, temperature swings, and vibration from engines and waves. Every component in our signs is selected for this environment.
Our LED signs are rated IP68 — the highest level of ingress protection. This means they are completely dust-tight and can withstand prolonged submersion in water beyond 1 metre. For context, most "waterproof" consumer electronics are only rated IP67.
The acrylic itself is inherently UV-stable and won't yellow or become brittle from sun exposure the way polycarbonate alternatives do. We use cast (not extruded) acrylic for superior optical clarity and weather resistance.
LED signs install in under 45 minutes using the same 1:1 template system as our non-illuminated signs. The only additional step is connecting the 12V power lead to your vessel's electrical system.
The sign ships as a single pre-wired unit — you're connecting two wires (positive and negative) to a fused 12V circuit, the same way you'd install a new cabin light. Our installation guide covers the full process with detailed wiring diagrams.
If you'd prefer professional installation, we can connect you with marine electricians in most major coastal areas.
LED signs are available in letter heights from 3" to 18"+, following the same transom sizing guidelines as our metal signs. The illuminated acrylic adds roughly 15-20% to the cost compared to an equivalent stainless steel sign, primarily due to the LED modules and sealed electronics.
Every order starts with a free design proof — a photorealistic rendering showing your exact name, font, and color on a transom mockup. You approve the design before we begin production.
